#28 - Yirgacheffe - Washed Chelchele

Release #28 is a washed Ethiopian coffee from the Chelchele Washing Station in the Banko Chelchele district of Yirgacheffe. The lot is sourced from 368 smallholder farmers cultivating coffee at 1,900–2,200 masl across 406 hectares in fertile clay soils shaded by native trees. Traditional Ethiopian heirloom varieties — Kurume, Dago, and Wolisho — are grown here. Cherries are hand-sorted, fermented for 36–48 hours, then soaked, washed, and dried on raised beds for 6–7 days. A light roast, Grade 1 coffee with bright citrus, ripe cantaloupe, and delicate jasmine on a light body with refreshing acidity.
