After Hours Decaf

After Hours Decaf

Highwire Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

Sweet—Syrupy—Dry Cocoa. Backstory: After Hours was named simply for the fact that sometimes you want a little more coffee late in the day, but maybe don't need the caffeine. Decaf can be delicious. This is our proof. Origins: We source tasty decaf coffees and tend to prefer those that are decaffeinated through either the water-processed method, or the sugar-cane process. We feel these are both better for you and the environment. Pairings: Pairs well with mellow vibes such as Miles Davis' Kind of Blue, Spain's The Blue Moods of Spain, Violent Femmes Good Feeling or its namesake After Hours by the Velvet Underground. Brew: Brew Use a scale and grind fresh. Use 16 grams of water at 200°F for each gram of coffee

Highwire Coffee Roasters

Highwire Coffee Roasters was founded in 2011 in the East Bay by Rich Avella, Eric Hashimoto, and Robert Myers, three friends who connected in the mid 1990s over shared values around coffee and community. The roastery operates out of Emeryville, California, with multiple cafés across Oakland, Alameda, Albany, and Walnut Creek. Highwire roasts and ships on the same day to ensure peak freshness, offering a range from light, bright single origins to deeper, chocolatey darker roasts. Sourcing prioritizes the freshest green coffees available in any given season, and the team builds direct relationships with producers who share their focus on quality and sustainability. The company describes its approach as approachable excellence, a philosophy that extends from the coffee itself to the neighborhood feel of each location.
