This honey processed coffee is produced by indigenous smallholder farmers who are members of La Cooperativa de Cafes Especiales de Narino in Aponte, Narino, Colombia. The farms are between 0.5-1.5 hectares in size and located at altitudes of 1700-2100 meters above sea level. The coffee is Castillo variety and exhibits grapefruit, honey, and red apple flavor notes. It offers sweet apple and grapefruit acidity with good body and texture, creating a fruit forward and syrupy sweet profile. Producers in Aponte have mastered honey processing over three consecutive years, benefiting from small production volumes and low relative humidity that allows for faster drying.
Wood Street Coffee began in 2013 when Clare and Gareth Reid started a weekly stall at Wood Street Indoor Market in Walthamstow, London. The move into roasting came in April 2018, initially through slot roasting at The Tate, before the team purchased a second hand 5kg Probat a year later. Head roaster Tim brings over 14 years of coffee experience to the operation, which now supplies cafés, pubs, hotels, delis, and farm shops across the UK. The roastery handles local deliveries in person each week across London, Essex, Hertfordshire, and Cambridgeshire, alongside wholesale, subscriptions, and barista training services.
