Basha Bekele Murago is a single-origin coffee from Bombe, Bensa, Ethiopia at 2350 meters elevation. The coffee features the local 74158 variety (Walega) processed using white honey methods. It offers clean, expressive floral notes with jasmine and mulberry, complemented by tropical mango and citrus characteristics that develop as the coffee cools.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
