This coffee is produced by Beatriz Aparecida de Souza Guimarães at Fazenda Lavrinha in the Cerrado Mineiro region of Brazil. It is an anaerobic natural processed coffee, roasted to a light-medium profile. The cup offers a vibrant complexity with flavor notes of pink lemonade and pineapple, balanced by a creamy macadamia finish.
Girls Who Grind Coffee was founded in 2017 by Fi O'Brien and Casey LaLonde in Wiltshire. Fi, originally from Australia, handles brand and design; Casey, from upstate New York, is head roaster and a qualified Q Grader who has been working in coffee since 2006. The roastery sources exclusively from women coffee producers. Through their Cheek to Cheek initiative, 10% of all retail coffee sales goes directly to the women farmers and producers they work with, on top of fair pricing for the green coffee itself. Casey roasts on a Giesen, developing profiles on an IKAWA sample roaster. Each retail bag features an illustrated portrait representing the spirit of the producer, designed by Fi and her husband.
