This light roast blend combines high-scoring, ethically sourced single origins from the Americas and East Africa. Current components are 50% El Mezcal from Milton Villatoro in Huehuetenango, Guatemala and 50% Muthonjo from Kirinyaga County, Kenya. The blend features washed, bright coffees designed for complex and crisp flavor profiles. The Guatemala component brings sweet sugar notes while the Kenya component adds rich, bright, and jammy elements.
Adam Strauss and Tyler Elliott co founded Unity Sourcing & Roasting in 2017 after working together at Pushcart coffee in New York City. The roastery operates from a facility in Vernon, California, with a retail presence in Manhattan. Unity focuses on direct relationships with select coffee producing families, purchasing higher quantities at premium prices rather than spreading thin across too many origins. Coffee is roasted weekly, and the lineup rotates with single origin selections. Commonly Coffee named Unity its Roaster of the Month in August 2023.
