This espresso blend emphasizes body and sweetness with rounded citrus flavors designed for easy drinking. The blend features a high proportion of Brazilian coffee contributing peanut and caramel notes, combined with Ethiopian coffee adding sweetness. Harvested in 2024, this is the first blend product from the Boxx family.
Boxx Coffee Roasters Co was founded in Istanbul in 2015 by Mert Soley, a former car racer, and Altug Baser, a scientist, before expanding to Los Angeles in 2021 with partner Arda Barlas. The Downtown Arts District roastery and café specialises in light roasted, origin focused coffees with an emphasis on floral, citrus, and fruity notes, sourcing single origin microlots from Bolivia, Congo, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Uganda. A signature offering is Turkish style cezve coffee brewed slowly in the traditional manner, honouring the founders' heritage. The espresso programme runs on a La Marzocco Strada with Mahlkonig Peak grinders, and the team pursues what they call the God Shot philosophy of perfect espresso alignment.
