Brazil Fazenda Lagoa

Brazil Fazenda Lagoa

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co.

About This Coffee

This coffee is from the Sul de Minas region of Brazil, grown on the steep hillsides of the Monte Belo region at 900-1,100 meters altitude. It is produced by cousins Marcelo and Adolfo Vieira, who farm both Fazenda Passeio and Fazenda Lagoa. The coffee is a natural processed blend of Mundo Novo, Catuaí, Icatu, and Bourbon varieties. The harvest is done entirely by hand due to the steep terrain. The coffee presents tasting notes of peanut butter, milk chocolate, and honey, roasted to a medium level.

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co.

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. has been roasting in Milwaukee since 1999, with its primary operation at a Walker's Point roastery that holds organic certification. The team roasts on two Loring S35 Kestrel Smart Roasters, which reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by 80% compared to conventional machines. Half of their coffee offerings are Rainforest Alliance certified, and the full menu is organic, sourced from origins including Costa Rica, Ethiopia, and Mexico through importers selected for their integrity. The roastery runs four locations across Milwaukee, including the original Bay View café and a spot inside the Historic Third Ward's Milwaukee Public Market. Anodyne is also part of the FairWave Specialty Coffee Collective, a Midwest collaborative network of specialty roasters.
