This Brazilian coffee originates from the Pocos De Caldas region, a renowned coffee-growing area in Minas Gerais. It features a traditional Brazilian coffee profile with smooth body and chocolatey sweetness. The coffee presents tasting notes of milk chocolate, hazelnut, and vanilla, making it versatile for both black coffee and milk-based drinks.
Small Batch Coffee Roasters opened its first shop on Goldstone Villas in Hove in 2006, making it one of the earliest pioneers of specialty coffee in the UK. Now managed by Colin Morrison, the roastery operates from Portslade using both a Probat and a Loring Kestrel, with Cropster software guiding sensory evaluation across every batch. The company supplies over 100 wholesale businesses nationwide and runs two cafés in the Brighton and Hove area alongside a travelling coffee cart that appears at events across the country. Small Batch won Coffee Roaster of the Year at the 2022 LuxLIFE Food and Drink Awards and was runner up for Best Specialty Coffee Roaster at the Allegra European Coffee Awards the same year.
