This coffee is from the Kasese District in Uganda, grown at an altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level. The coffee is sourced from the Kasinga Coffee Station and collected by 398 farmers. The varietals include SL-28 and SL-34. It is naturally processed, with cherries hand-harvested and carefully selected for ripeness. The cherries are pre-sorted, floated in water to remove defects, then sun-dried on raised beds in purpose-built polytunnels. The coffee is processed at the Mahango Coop mill. Flavor notes include peach, yogurt, and chocolate.
Murmuration Coffee Co. is a specialty roastery based in the Chichester area of West Sussex, founded by Dom Pulleyn, a veteran of some of the UK's biggest specialty coffee names and a competitor in the UK Barista Championships. The name evokes the unity and interconnection of a murmuration of starlings, reflecting the roastery's emphasis on relationships throughout the supply chain. Dom sources coffees with a focus on provenance and quality, working with producers like the Ospina family in Huila, Colombia, whose Linocaro farm has placed repeatedly in the Cup of Excellence. The range spans single origins from Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, and Colombia alongside signature espresso blends.
