This coffee is grown in the cloud forest of Monteverde, Costa Rica, thriving in cool temperatures beneath a natural canopy of shade trees. The diverse climate allows the coffee to ripen slowly, developing quality flavors. After being selectively handpicked, the coffee is processed at a nearby wet mill and sun-dried on patios and shaded raised beds. The coffee exhibits tasting notes of honey crisp apple, milk chocolate, and caramel with a medium roast profile.
Founded in the early 1980s in a restored farmhouse located 25 miles from Glacier National Park near the Continental Divide, Montana Coffee Traders has roasted arabica coffees for more than 40 years. Operating multiple cafés throughout the region while maintaining a roastery equipped with Loring and Sivitz equipment, the company has built its reputation on consistency and quality in one of America's most distinctive coffee roasting locations. The roastery's vintage farmhouse setting and proximity to pristine wilderness embody a roasting philosophy deeply connected to place.
