Decadent Decaf Coffee Company

About This Coffee

This Colombian decaf coffee is grown in the Cauca Valley, surrounded by natural springs and cultivated in volcanic soil at approximately 1750 meters elevation. It is the roaster's first Sugarcane Process decaffeinated coffee, using spring water and natural Ethyl Acetate derived from sugarcane to gently remove caffeine. The coffee features Arabica varieties Caturra and Castillo, resulting in a cup with light nuttiness, sweet dried cherry notes, and undertones of chocolate and caramel. It offers low acidity and a pleasant medium body.

Decadent Decaf Coffee Company

Guy Wilmot, along with Richard, Greg, and Laura, founded Decadent Decaf in Littlehampton, West Sussex, around 2015 with a pointed thesis: decaffeinated coffee can taste exceptional if you start with the right beans and refuse to cut corners on process. The company works exclusively with the Swiss Water Process, a fully chemical free method that removes 99.9 percent of caffeine. Father and son team Richard and Greg handle the roasting on an old fashioned Probat gas roaster, keeping batches small and consistent. Rather than rotating origins frequently, Decadent Decaf maintains its core lineup year round to avoid stale transitional stock. The operation claims to be both the world's first dedicated decaf coffee company and Europe's first single origin Swiss Water Decaf roaster.
