About This Coffee

This coffee is from Finca El Placer in San Augustin, Huila, Colombia, produced by Karen Burbano, an 18-year-old fourth-generation coffee grower. The coffee is a Pink Bourbon variety grown on a small farm of 3000 trees at higher altitude. The processing method involves wet fermentation with cherries collected every 15 days at peak ripeness, fermented overnight in a hopper, then depulped and covered with water. This pattern repeats for 3-4 days, followed by a 48-hour fermentation of the whole mass covered in water. The coffee is then rinsed and dried in a solar dryer on raised beds in shade for 18-20 days. The flavor profile features rose hips, red berries, and aromatic notes.
