Bean Brothers

Brothers Jeremy and James Perkins started Bean Brothers in 2012 in James's garage in Huddersfield, roasting after dark on a small Turkish machine to avoid disturbing the neighbors. The venture grew out of their need to control quality for Coffeevolution, the independent specialty coffee shop they had opened in 2000, Huddersfield's first of its kind. The roastery eventually moved into Fairfield Mills, an old textile mill on the edge of town, where a 10kg drum roaster replaced the original Turkish equipment. Jeremy's background is unusually varied: trained as a viola player at the Royal Academy of Music, he performed professionally in London for a decade before studying law and eventually turning to coffee. The range includes single origins and house espresso blends alongside more distinctive offerings like rum infused coffees, aged for 60 days in oak barrels. Bean Brothers has won multiple Great Taste Awards, including three star recognition.
