This single-origin coffee is sourced from Fabian Acevedo's family-run farm in Providencia de Geshua, Huila region, Colombia, grown at approximately 1,750 meters altitude. The Caturra variety undergoes a distinctive processing method: 24-hour oxidation post-harvest, 36-hour fermentation after depulping, and approximately 15-day drying on raised beds. The coffee features a delicate, tea-like body with refined, subtle flavor characteristics and fruit-forward aromatics resulting from the extended fermentation and careful processing.
Founded in 2013 by Beverly and Sam Magtanong, Jelynn Malone, and Mike Arquines, Mostra Coffee began in Beverly's kitchen experimenting with coffees from InterAmerican Coffee before expanding through public cuppings at Abnormal Wine Company. Growing from that humble garage operation in 4S Ranch to multiple San Diego locations, Mostra has become a woman owned, immigrant owned, minority owned, and disabled veteran owned business that earned recognition as a multiple award winning roastery. The company's growth trajectory demonstrates how passion and community support can transform a kitchen experiment into a thriving specialty coffee enterprise.
