Alvarium Roasting

About This Coffee

This coffee is a microlot from Finca El Alto in Costa Rica, owned and operated by the Monge Falas family through three generations. Don Carlos Monge took over the farm from his grandfather and replaced corn and bean crops with coffee plants over 25 years ago. The farm was named by Carlos' wife, Rose Mary, after the towering mountains that surround the property. This light roast microlot features bright flavor notes of tangerine, rock candy, and apricot.

Alvarium Roasting

Alvarium Roasting launched in January 2022 as a sister venture of Alvarium Beer Company in New Britain, Connecticut. The business is owned by Kate Bugnacki, Michael Larson, and Brian Bugnacki, with Jacob Failla directing roasting operations. All coffee is roasted to order weekly and sourced ethically from multiple countries, with the blends carrying bee and nature themed names that reflect the parent brand's identity. The roastery operates a retail café at its New Britain headquarters alongside a second location at the GastroPark in West Hartford, and the partnership with the brewery creates opportunities for beer and coffee collaborations.
