Costa Rica San Jorge is grown in Costa Rica's Brunca region, renowned for its mountainous terrain and fertile volcanic soil. Grown at altitudes ranging from 700 to 1,100 meters above sea level, this is a blend of Catuai and Caturra varietals. The coffee offers flavours of almond, fruits, and chocolate with sweet undertones, featuring a clean, lively acidity and a medium body.
Grain & Grind opened its first coffee shop at the start of 2018 beneath the old Victoria Infirmary buildings on Battlefield Road in Glasgow. A roaster was installed in that original shop and later relocated to Inverness, where master roaster John now hand roasts in small batches across a range of over twenty offerings. The company has grown to eight café locations spread between Glasgow and Inverness. They also run a wholesale supply business providing beans, brew bags, and equipment to cafés, restaurants, and hotels, partnering with San Remo for espresso machines and Mahlkönig for grinders.
