Yego Coffee
Yego Coffee was founded in 2019 by Francois Tuyishime and his wife Fatuma in Somerville, Massachusetts, built on a direct connection to the family's coffee farms in southwestern Rwanda, where the Tuyishime family has cultivated coffee for more than four decades. Tuyishime roasts on a weekly schedule, working with beans he knows from the soil up. The company name comes from the Kinyarwanda word for "yes," a reflection of the positivity and affirmation at the heart of the operation. A portion of revenue funds community programs in Rwanda, including school lunches and support for girls' education. Yego is a roaster whose supply chain is also a family story, connecting Massachusetts coffee drinkers to Rwandan farming communities without intermediaries.
