Dark Roast - Uganda Single Origin

Feza and Diane Oktay established North River Roasters in Poughkeepsie, New York in Fall 2015 as the citys first resident coffee roaster, bringing specialty coffee expertise to a community that previously lacked local roasting. In December 2022, the founders donated the entire business to Mid Hudson Works, a workforce development nonprofit providing employment opportunities for veterans and individuals with disabilities, transforming the roastery into a social enterprise. Fluid bed air roasting technology enables precise temperature control while a Community Supported Coffee Roasting model, similar to agricultural CSAs, builds direct relationships with customers. All beans carry Fair Trade Organic certification, ensuring ethical sourcing standards throughout their supply chain.
