This decaffeinated coffee is sourced from the Caldas region of Colombia. It is processed using the sugarcane ethyl acetate method. The flavor profile features notes of dark chocolate, red apple, and brown sugar, offering a sweet and dark cup. This coffee is roasted to a dark level and is suitable for both espresso and brewed coffee preparations.
Uncommon Coffee started as a cafe in Saugatuck, Michigan in 1994, founded by Guy Darienzo and Stephen Keye. In 2021, after 27 years under the original owners, the business was acquired by Bruno Nobre and Mauricio DaSilva, both from multi generational coffee farming families in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil. They had previously supplied beans to Uncommon as partner farmers, making the transition from grower to roaster a natural one. The roastery now serves over 200 businesses across the Midwest. Uncommon is farmer owned and minority owned, and operates with a goal of being landfill free, using BPI certified compostable cups and sleeves throughout.
