Decaf Colombia Huila

Decaf Colombia Huila

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co.

About This Coffee

This decaf coffee from Colombia's Huila region is produced by various smallholder farmers at elevations between 1,300 and 1,900 meters. The beans are Caturra variety and processed using a washed method combined with sugarcane decaffeination—a natural process utilizing ethyl acetate derived from fermented sugar. This process removes nearly all caffeine while preserving the coffee's flavor integrity. The coffee presents tasting notes of dried fruit, toffee, and milk chocolate, roasted to a medium level.

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co.

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. has been roasting in Milwaukee since 1999, with its primary operation at a Walker's Point roastery that holds organic certification. The team roasts on two Loring S35 Kestrel Smart Roasters, which reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by 80% compared to conventional machines. Half of their coffee offerings are Rainforest Alliance certified, and the full menu is organic, sourced from origins including Costa Rica, Ethiopia, and Mexico through importers selected for their integrity. The roastery runs four locations across Milwaukee, including the original Bay View café and a spot inside the Historic Third Ward's Milwaukee Public Market. Anodyne is also part of the FairWave Specialty Coffee Collective, a Midwest collaborative network of specialty roasters.
