Passenger Coffee

Passenger Coffee is a specialty roastery in Berlin, founded in 2004 by Jan-Marcus Schieffer and Garth Gregory as a mobile espresso service run from a converted Piaggio Ape on the streets of Friedrichshain. The pair spent years building a following at markets and festivals before opening their first permanent spot in Kreuzberg's Wrangelkiez in 2010 and launching the roastery in Alt Treptow in 2015. Passenger roasts on a Loring Smart Roaster and sources green coffee through a network of specialty importers including Ocafi, Raw Material, Trabocca and Rehm & Co, alongside a growing number of direct farmer relationships such as Finca Churupampa. The Passenger Blend, a house espresso in production since 2008, anchors the range alongside rotating single origins and filter roasts. The roastery also operates a refillable container system for beans, part of a broader commitment to reducing packaging waste across the supply chain.
