Decaf Organic Café Marika Bold Blend

Decaf Organic Café Marika Bold Blend

New Harvest Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

This is an organic decaffeinated blend featuring dark roast characteristics with a bold flavor profile. The coffee is decaffeinated using a water-processed method by Descafeinadores Mexicanos in Veracruz, Mexico. This all-water decaffeination process removes 97% of the caffeine while preserving the coffee's flavor components. Unroasted green coffee is soaked in water, which is then filtered through special charcoal to trap caffeine molecules while allowing flavor components to flow through. The flavor-rich water is recombined with the decaffeinated green coffee beans.

New Harvest Coffee Roasters

Rik Kleinfeldt and Paula Anderson established New Harvest Coffee Roasters in Providence, Rhode Island in 2000, setting the foundation for a roastery defined by ethical sourcing and operational excellence. Their Loring Peregrine 70 kilogram roaster became the centerpiece of an operation that introduced a source direct program in 2007, transforming how they connect with coffee producers. Staff members travel yearly to coffee farms in Central and South America, building relationships and ensuring payment of at least 20 percent above Fair Trade minimum prices. Operating as a Certified Organic Handler using 100 percent renewable electricity, and having created Rhode Islands first barista training program in 2008, New Harvest has woven sustainability and education into every aspect of their business.
