A single-origin Kenyan coffee from Doris Tuiyott's Little Swamps Estate in the Western Rift Valley, grown at 2,277 meters elevation. This washed, pure Batian varietal coffee showcases red grapefruit, mango, cherry, and rose notes with exceptional clarity and complexity. The cherries are pulped and floated for consistency, washed, skin-dried for 24 hours, then finished on raised beds for approximately 6 days. Light roast coffee recommended to rest 4-6 weeks from roast date.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
