This organic coffee originates from the Lubero region near Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The beans are water washed processed and roasted to a medium level. The coffee exhibits bright acidity with medium body, offering tasting notes of peach, clove, and molasses. The coffee cooperative producing this bean is largely women-owned.
Glean Coffee Roasters was founded by Billy and Amanda Chaddock alongside Emma and Jonathan Theander in Pocatello, Idaho, with a social enterprise model woven into its core. The roastery sources ethically produced beans and roasts in house, directing a portion of each sale to local community causes chosen by the customers themselves. Glean operates out of a downtown location that doubles as a gathering space, producing specialty coffee alongside house made syrups. The name reflects the founders' intent: to gather with purpose, creating value that extends beyond the cup.
