Coffee from Ducurai village, Ermera, Timor Leste, produced by 14 smallholder farmers organized through Café Brisa Serena. Varieties include Timor Hybrid and Typica grown at 1,300-1,500 meters altitude. Washed processed with handpicked cherries fermented using personal or shared equipment, then dried on raised beds. Medium roast with tasting notes of pear tart, milk chocolate, and brown sugar.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
