About This Coffee

A washed Colombian coffee from the Huila region, sourced from 60–70 small producers based in the towns of Tesalia and Teruel. Grown in Huila's rich volcanic soil — Colombia's top coffee-producing region with its own designation of origin — at altitude in conditions ideal for specialty coffee. The varietal is listed as mixed (Arabica). Roasted as an espresso roast with flavor notes of sweet, plum, lemon, and milk chocolate.

Espressofabriek was founded in 2005 by Rick Woertman at the Amsterdamse Westergasfabriek, establishing itself as one of the first specialty coffee spaces in the Netherlands and pioneering the Dutch specialty coffee movement. From 2011 onwards, the team began sourcing green coffee and roasting their own beans, developing their craft to match their commitment to quality. The roastery has since expanded to three spots across Amsterdam, including spaces in IJburg and on Zeeburgereiland, each reflecting their philosophy of excellence in every cup. With two decades of experience, Espressofabriek remains a foundational institution in Dutch specialty coffee culture.
