This coffee is from the Guji region of Ethiopia, a renowned coffee-growing area at high altitude. It is a natural process coffee made from Heirloom varietal Arabica beans. The light roast brings out distinct tasting notes of Blueberry Jam, Jasmine, and Ripe Mango, creating a bright and fruity cup with floral aromatics.
Achilles Coffee Roasters was founded in 2015 by Chad Bell in San Diego, California, named after his son. What started as a modest outdoor coffee cart in the Gaslamp Quarter grew within a year into a leased space in Cortez Hill, and the business now operates five café locations across San Diego County. All coffee is roasted in small batches locally, using beans that carry Organic, Fair Trade, and Rainforest Alliance certifications alongside direct trade relationships where possible. The roastery maintains 12 rotating single origin selections sourced from around the globe, with an emphasis on precision brewing methods including weighed espresso shots.
