What began in 1974 when Cam Prefontaine sought better coffee for his Vancouver office service has evolved into a Calgary institution spanning three generations, with sons Chris, Jason, and Russ purchasing their parents' roasting company in 1997 and rebranding it as Fratello Coffee Roasters. The brothers not only built a coffee empire but also pioneered the renowned Slayer Espresso machine in 2007 and launched the successful Analog Coffee chain, before returning their full focus to Fratello in 2021 to honor their father's legacy of treating clients and staff like family while roasting on vintage 1960s Probat roasters that craft timeless flavour profiles through direct trade relationships across Central and South America.
