Sonreir Coffee Co.

About This Coffee

This natural processed coffee originates from the Guji Zone, specifically the Buku Hambela Wash Station in Oromia, Ethiopia. Sourced through Lulo Coffee's processing site, the coffee is produced by smallholder farmers who hand-harvest ripe cherries. Select microlots undergo experimental anaerobic fermentation, dried for 48 hours, fermented for five days, shade-dried for 24 days, and rested for two months. The coffee features notes of milk chocolate, jasmine, nectarine, syrupy sweetness, and sparkling acidity with a clean, long finish.

Sonreir Coffee Co.

Sonreir Coffee Co. began in 2019 as a father and son project, roasting on a one kilogram home roaster and hand delivering bags around the Bay Area before scaling into a full operation. It is a second generation, Latin owned and Mexican American company whose mission is to honor that heritage through coffee that inspires happiness, connection, and cultural pride. All beans are sourced exclusively from Mexico, purchased from co ops and family run farms. Sonreir holds both Fair Trade and Organic certifications. The lineup has expanded beyond whole bean to include ready to drink lattes and cold brews made with clean label ingredients and no refined sugar.
