This coffee is sourced from Suke Quto farm in the Guji region of southern Ethiopia. Produced by agronomist Tesfaye, who helped establish the region as a notable coffee-producing area, this washed coffee offers a well-balanced cup with clean finish. The coffee features prominent fruit and floral notes, characteristic of high-quality Ethiopian origins. Tesfaye has implemented sustainable farming practices including replanting trees for biodiversity following regional bushfires, and most recently established a local school for the community.
Balloon Coffee Roasters was founded in 2021 in Zurich by Coen van Sprang, a former Dutch barista champion, and Patrizio Frigerio, a Swiss Italian engineer. The name reflects a desire to create a light, joyful, and uplifting coffee experience. The roasting is precise and focused, aiming to produce exceptionally clean, bright, and flavourful cups driven by a competitive pursuit of excellence.
