About This Coffee

This is a natural-processed coffee from southwestern Ethiopia, specifically from the Kaffa and Illubabor regions. The beans are forest-harvested from self-sown plants growing beneath natural forest canopy. This coffee variety is considered the one most similar in taste to the original wild coffee plant. It is full-bodied with gentle acidity and features notes of dark cocoa, walnut, and red wine tannins, finishing with a chocolatey bittersweet and subtly gamey character.

Grain & Grind

Grain & Grind opened its first coffee shop at the start of 2018 beneath the old Victoria Infirmary buildings on Battlefield Road in Glasgow. A roaster was installed in that original shop and later relocated to Inverness, where master roaster John now hand roasts in small batches across a range of over twenty offerings. The company has grown to eight café locations spread between Glasgow and Inverness. They also run a wholesale supply business providing beans, brew bags, and equipment to cafés, restaurants, and hotels, partnering with San Remo for espresso machines and Mahlkönig for grinders.
