About This Coffee

This coffee is a washed Ethiopian Yirgacheffe from the highlands of Kaffa and Buno, where legend says coffee was first discovered. The beans are Heirloom variety, grown at high altitude in the southwestern highlands of Ethiopia. It features delicate floral and tea-like characteristics with fine acidity and body. The flavor profile includes rosehip, lemon tea, orange citrus, blueberry, dark chocolate, apple cider, and cherry blossom, creating a complex yet approachable cup.

Grain & Grind opened its first coffee shop at the start of 2018 beneath the old Victoria Infirmary buildings on Battlefield Road in Glasgow. A roaster was installed in that original shop and later relocated to Inverness, where master roaster John now hand roasts in small batches across a range of over twenty offerings. The company has grown to eight café locations spread between Glasgow and Inverness. They also run a wholesale supply business providing beans, brew bags, and equipment to cafés, restaurants, and hotels, partnering with San Remo for espresso machines and Mahlkönig for grinders.
