Micro-lot from Grupo Terruño Nayarita, sourced from the BASILIO cooperative in El Cuarenteño, Nayarit, Mexico at 1,020 meters elevation. Blend of Mondo Novo, Caturra, and Criollo varieties processed using washed method at the Sandia Wet Mill. Medium roast with extended Maillard reaction for enhanced body and sweetness. Flavor profile includes dark chocolate, toasted marshmallow, caramel, honeyed date, and candied pear.

Torque Coffee

Nanelle and Andy Newbom founded Torque Coffee in San Diego in 2022, bringing roughly 25 years of combined experience in roasting, green coffee sales, and specialty coffee organizations, including co founding the Barista Guild of America. Nanelle handles 100 percent of the roasting on a Diedrich IR5, and no coffee leaves the roastery more than 48 hours after it was roasted. Torque operates a Proportional Pricing model in which producers receive a fixed percentage of the retail price: 20 percent on single bag purchases and 35 percent on wholesale. All paper products are recycled, FSC certified, and home compostable, wholesale deliveries use reusable canisters, and shipping mailers are made from limestone quarry waste. The roastery has earned multiple Golden Bean Awards.
