About This Coffee

This Fairtrade-certified coffee from Cauca, Colombia comprises three varieties: Caturra, Colombia, and Typica. Grown at 1,700 meters altitude, the coffee is sourced from Federación Campesina del Cauca, which works with more than 2,000 rural families in the region. Producers avoid toxic agrochemicals and work to conserve native seeds, soil, and water. The coffee undergoes fully washed processing, creating a sensory profile with good balance and lively acidity. Flavor notes include chocolate, blackberry, redcurrant, and grape, offering a berry bouquet with a lasting, elegant, and exceptionally smooth aftertaste.

Colombia Coffee Roasters

Milly, a Colombian from a generation of coffee growers, founded Colombia Coffee Roasters in Oxford. The company sources 100 percent arabica from her family farm and neighboring high altitude farms in Colombia, maintaining direct relationships that guarantee both quality and fair conditions. Roasting happens in house on a Giesen roaster at their facility in Wheatley, just outside Oxford. The Covered Market location was voted Best Cafe in Oxford in 2022 by the Oxford Mail, and a second cafe in Summertown took second place in the same awards. The approach spans the full tree to cup chain: sourcing, roasting, and brewing, with multiple brew methods available in the cafes including syphon, V60, Chemex, and AeroPress.
