About This Coffee

This coffee is produced by Fredy Leonardo Gomez, a third-generation coffee grower in Isnos, a municipality in southern Huila, Colombia. The farm sits at high altitude with fertile volcanic soils and a stable microclimate with balanced rainfall and cool temperatures. These conditions allow coffee cherries to mature slowly, enhancing sweetness, complexity, and aromatic intensity in the cup. The region is known as a natural bridge between the renowned coffee profiles of Huila and Cauca.

Redemption Roasters

Redemption Roasters was founded in 2017 by Max Dubiel and Ted Rosner with a singular mission: reducing reoffending through coffee. The roastery operates a Loring S70 Peregrin inside HMP The Mount in Hemel Hempstead, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, and opened a second facility in Wembley in 2023. Barista academies now run in nine or more prisons across the UK, and over 1,500 individuals have completed training programmes. The results are striking: a 4% reoffending rate among their graduates compared to the national average of 42%. Redemption operates twelve London coffee shops and generates £3.47 in social value for every pound invested. Sourcing reflects the same ethos, including beans from Colombian ex paramilitary farmers rebuilding their lives and from female producers in Brazil.
