Gari Guji, Ethiopia

Gari Guji, Ethiopia

Big Lake Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

This natural processed coffee comes from the Lensa Gari washing-drying station in the Guji region of Ethiopia. The station is run by Lensa and her husband Fitsum, working with 150 smallholder farmers who grow coffee at altitudes between 1800-2000 meters. The coffee is sourced from semi-forest and garden cultivation systems. It features mixed Heirloom varieties and is processed using the natural/dry method, where the coffee cherries are dried intact with the fruit pulp remaining on the bean. The harvest period is October through December. The flavor profile includes notes of ripe berries (particularly peach), dried fruit, honey, chocolate, and pecan, with a full creamy body and long sweet finish with floral undertones.
