This Geisha coffee is produced by Diego Riaños from El Diamante farm in the village of La Bernarda, Guadalupe Huila, Colombia, at an elevation of 1,634 meters above sea level. The farm grows approximately 3,500 Caturra variety trees and 2,500 Catimore trees. The processing involves harvesting, pulping, fermenting in a plastic bag for 48 hours, washing twice, sorting using a sieve, and drying. The coffee features a smooth mouthfeel with flavor notes of raspberry, jasmine, bergamot, lemon, orange peel, and subtle nuttiness, accompanied by a lingering floral aroma.
Founded in 2016 by Maria Jose Palacio, a fifth generation Colombian coffee farmer, and John Trabelsi, Progeny Coffee bridges producer and consumer in powerful ways. Based in Oakland CA with roastery operations in Palo Alto, they source all beans from sustainable farms in Colombia, ensuring transparency and continuity. Their mission extends beyond coffee to addressing root economic challenges: they work directly toward taking coffee farmers out of poverty through fair compensation and long term relationships.
