New Harvest Coffee Roasters

Rik Kleinfeldt and Paula Anderson established New Harvest Coffee Roasters in Providence, Rhode Island in 2000, setting the foundation for a roastery defined by ethical sourcing and operational excellence. Their Loring Peregrine 70 kilogram roaster became the centerpiece of an operation that introduced a source direct program in 2007, transforming how they connect with coffee producers. Staff members travel yearly to coffee farms in Central and South America, building relationships and ensuring payment of at least 20 percent above Fair Trade minimum prices. Operating as a Certified Organic Handler using 100 percent renewable electricity, and having created Rhode Islands first barista training program in 2008, New Harvest has woven sustainability and education into every aspect of their business.
