This single-origin coffee is produced by the Santo Domingo Cooperative, a women-led cooperative located in the tropical mountains of Guatemala. The cooperative is part of FECCEG (Federation of Coffee Cooperatives of Guatemala). The coffee is certified organic, Fair Trade, and kosher. The women producers of Santo Domingo have diversified their production to include honey and goat keeping while also offering educational classes to nearby communities.
Café Moto was founded in 2012 by Jason Weis in San Diego, California. The roastery operates a Diedrich IR 12 from its location, producing bright, clean profiles that highlight origin characteristics. Weis sources through direct trade relationships with farmers and importers, focusing on single origin coffees and seasonal offerings. The café serves espresso, pour over, and retail beans, and the business supplies wholesale accounts across San Diego's restaurant, café, and hotel scene. Café Moto also hosts public cuppings and education events as part of its involvement in the local specialty coffee community.
