This coffee originates from Gui Ben in Yunnan, China, near the border with Laos, where Tang Xiang and Tian Cai cultivate it with their community. The Catimor variety is naturally processed, developing robust flavors of grape jelly, kumquat, and cocoa. The coffee offers a sweet, round cup profile that showcases China's coffee potential, blending tea tradition with coffee innovation in the mountains of Yunnan.
Originally established in 2002 by founders Sascha Spittel and Robert Stock as Tres Cabezas and rebranded to 19grams in 2018, this Berlin-based roastery has been a pioneer in bringing specialty coffee to Germany when the movement was barely recognized in the country.
