This coffee comes from Balmadi Estate, located in the Nilgiris region of Tamil Nadu, southern India, at altitudes between 1,500 and 1,650 meters above sea level. The estate grows Arabica coffee organically without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. The selected lot is a Peaberry of the S-794 (Lini-S) variety, processed using the washed method. In the cup it offers a balance of sweetness and acidity with notes of raw sugar, caramelized sesame seeds, roasted barley tea, and dehydrated apple. At a darker roast, flavors of chocolate cookie, almond toffee, and a nutty finish emerge.
