This lot comes from the Walida cooperative in East Java, Indonesia, growing coffee on the misty slopes of Mount Argopuro at up to 1,850 meters above sea level. After a devastating forest fire in 2018, the land was restored with over 500,000 coffee trees. Led by agronomist Muhlisin, the cooperative consists of around 500 farming families who farm organically and experiment with innovative processing methods. In the cup, expect vibrant fruit, clean sweetness, and a lively, expressive structure.
Balloon Coffee Roasters was founded in 2021 in Zurich by Coen van Sprang, a former Dutch barista champion, and Patrizio Frigerio, a Swiss Italian engineer. The name reflects a desire to create a light, joyful, and uplifting coffee experience. The roasting is precise and focused, aiming to produce exceptionally clean, bright, and flavourful cups driven by a competitive pursuit of excellence.
