Grain & Grind

About This Coffee

This coffee is grown on the volcanic slopes of Sumatra near Mt. Leuser in the Batak region of west-central Indonesia. It is processed using the Giling Basah method, a unique Indonesian technique where the parchment is hulled at approximately 50% moisture content. The result is a full-bodied coffee with low acidity, featuring sweet and spicy notes of dark chocolate and liquorice with herbal nuances and a chocolate finish.

Grain & Grind

Grain & Grind opened its first coffee shop at the start of 2018 beneath the old Victoria Infirmary buildings on Battlefield Road in Glasgow. A roaster was installed in that original shop and later relocated to Inverness, where master roaster John now hand roasts in small batches across a range of over twenty offerings. The company has grown to eight café locations spread between Glasgow and Inverness. They also run a wholesale supply business providing beans, brew bags, and equipment to cafés, restaurants, and hotels, partnering with San Remo for espresso machines and Mahlkönig for grinders.
