About This Coffee

This coffee is from Indravathi estate, located in Chikmagalur, Karnataka, India. The estate sits at an elevation of 3859 meters (approximately 1175 meters) above sea level and spans 307 acres. The farm cultivates several Arabica varieties including SLN 795, SLN 9, Cauvery, and Chandragiri, as well as Robusta. This specific lot is processed using the honey method, where ripe cherries are hand-picked, depulped to retain the mucilage, and sun-dried on raised beds or patios until reaching 11-12% moisture content. The parchment is then rested for 2 months before milling. The estate has transitioned to organic practices and maintains over 50 varieties of jungle trees with abundant wildlife.

The roastery sits in the Jewellery Quarter on Kenyon Street, where the entire roasting process is visible from the café floor. In 2023 they opened a dedicated site for production and training. Coffees are organised into three categories: Stable for balanced profiles, Venture for floral and citrus forward lots, and Unique for experimental processes. All retail bags are fully home compostable and biodegradable.
