This coffee is from the Kamwangi Factory under the New Ngariama Cooperative Society in the Gichugu division of the Kirinyaga district, Kenya. Grown at 1600-1800 meters above sea level by smallholder farmers with around 100 trees each. The varieties are SL-28, SL-34, and Ruiru-11. Fully washed processing includes hand-sorting of cherries, pulping, density grading, 24-36 hour fermentation under closed shade, washing and additional grading in channels, overnight soaking, and drying on raised beds for 12-20 days. The AA grade represents the largest bean size of the yearly harvest. Flavor notes include black currant, melted butter, and rhubarb with high phosphoric acidity, great clarity, and a light, juicy mouthfeel with a bright, cooling finish. Harvested early 2025.
