Kenya Gondo

About This Coffee

The Gondo wet mill is operated by the New Kiriti Farmers Cooperative Society in the Mathioya District of Kenya, with 560 member farmers. Coffee cherries are selectively hand-picked and delivered to the wet mill on the same day, then sorted and washed using water from the nearby Gondo river. The cherries are fermented, sun-dried, and washed again before delivery to the dry mill. This lot from the 15th week of the mill's harvest presents intense sweetness with ripe blackberries, blood orange, and vanilla flavors. Floral notes are present in both flavor and aroma. It has the complexity and sparkling acidity characteristic of high-quality Kenyan coffees.

Case Coffee Roasters

Case Coffee Roasters was founded in 2006 by Kati and Tim Case in Ashland, Oregon. The team roasts on a Diedrich IR 7 with a focus on light to medium profiles, using compostable packaging throughout. Sourcing follows a direct trade and relationship based model with an emphasis on sustainability, and USDA Organic certified coffees feature in the range. The café on Fourth Street serves espresso, pour over, and pastries from local bakeries, and the business supports nonprofits and arts organisations in the Ashland community through regular partnerships.
