This Kenya coffee is from the Gikirima Factory located on the border of Kirinyaga and Embu districts at 1800 meters altitude, with farms reaching up to 2000 meters. The beans are AB screen size (15/64" to 17/64"), processed through disc-type depulping followed by 24-hour fermentation and 1-2 week drying on raised beds. The coffee features bright acidity with tart flavor notes of huckleberries, Meyer lemon, and rooibos tea, along with citrus notes, red fruits, and sweet undertones of brown sugar and dried plum. Medium roast develops moderate sweetness with spice notes including saffron, ginger, and turmeric in the aftertaste.

Lily & Willy's Coffee Co. is a family run specialty roaster founded in late 2022 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, named after the founders' children. The company roasts fresh for every order rather than building up inventory, sourcing premium single origin beans from Kenya, Colombia, Costa Rica, Brazil, Peru, Ethiopia, Guatemala, India, and El Salvador. The operation is deliberately small scale, with recent expansion into a local retail shelf at Shores Meat Shoppe marking a first step beyond direct to consumer online sales. The founders built the business with a long term vision of eventually opening their own café.
