This is a Robusta coffee from Kerehaklu Estate in the Chikmagular region of Karnataka, India. It is produced by Ajoy and Pranoy Thipaiah and their family farm. Robusta (Coffea canephora) is more resilient to pests and diseases than Arabica, grows at lower altitudes in hotter climates, and contains higher caffeine content (1.5 to 3.3 times higher than Arabica). The coffee exhibits characteristics typical of Robusta including increased bitterness, more body, and earthier notes due to higher amino acids and polysaccharides.
