About This Coffee

This is a single origin coffee from La Secreta farm in the Antioquia region of Colombia, grown at 1,980 meters altitude. The coffee is the Chiroso varietal, described as Antioquia's own pink bourbon, processed using the Anaerobic Honey method. It has a complex and floral cup profile with sweet tropical notes of tinned pineapple and guava, leading to a long jammy strawberry finish. The coffee retains a buttery mouthfeel and floral aromatics. Roasted to a light-medium level, it is suitable for both filter coffee and espresso drinkers who enjoy bright, fruity shots.

Cast Iron Coffee Roasters

Tilly and Guy Spurr, a husband and wife team, founded Cast Iron Coffee Roasters in 2014 in West Sussex. Guy, who holds a degree in computer science and economics, handles the roasting on twin 15kg Toper drum roasters from their workshop near Chichester. Green beans come through direct trade specialists DR Wakefield, Interamerican Coffees, and Falcon Specialty. The roasting philosophy is straightforward: showcase each bean as faithfully as possible to its origin. All coffee is hand roasted to order with the roast date stamped on the pack, typically reaching customers within three working days. Cast Iron also supplies La Marzocco, Elektra, and Britesso equipment and offers barista training alongside wholesale coffee to independent shops, restaurants, and other venues across the UK.
